Scelgo “Broccoli” dei Coil perchè credo sia una delle canzoni più tristi di sempre e perchè affronta un argomento che mi lascia tutt’altro che indifferente. Apprezzo molto il fatto che nel testo non vi sia traccia di disperazione, ma piuttosto un senso di rassegnazione illuminata. La voce dimessa e gentile, quasi sussurrata, di Christopherson è particolarmente toccante e funge da perfetto contraltare al recitato cupo e statico di John Balance. Fa un certo effetto riascoltarla ora che entrambi non ci sono più.
